Ahmed Ashour (b. 1996) is a Bahraini-Egyptian audio producer and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. His work focuses on using sound to explore performances of assimilation and trouble dominant narratives of race, gender, and identity, especially with regards to Arab and Muslim life. Ahmed’s journey in audio began at Kerning Cultures Network, the formerly-leading podcasting network in the Middle East/North Africa region. Since then, his work has been featured with Feet in 2 Worlds, Sowt, Sparkler Learning, Reyzin Media, and other media publications.
Ahmed is currently pursuing his M.A. in Journalism (Podcasting and Audio Reportage) at New York University/the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. He received his B.A. (with Honors) in Theatre Arts and Performance Studies from Brown University.
